Here’s what CNBC TV’s producers were watching as the Dow Industrials and S&P 500 hit new records, and what’s on the radar for the next session.

Let earnings season begin

JPMorgan Chase reports quarterly results. They’ll be featured live on “Squawk Box” at 6:30 a.m. ET with Becky Quick, Joe Kernen and Andrew Ross Sorkin.
CNBC TV’s Leslie Picker covers the banks and will have the numbers first. Then, we’ll see the instant stock reaction.
Shares of JPMorgan have gained nearly 8% over the past three months. The stock hit a high last week, and shares are down 3.8% from that level.
Delta Air Lines will also report. CNBC TV’s Phil LeBeau will speak with CEO Ed Bastian in the 7 a.m. hour of “Squawk Box.”
Shares of Delta have advanced 24% over the past three months. The stock hit a new high a week ago, and shares are down 3% from that level.
Bank of New York Mellon will also report Tuesday morning. The stock has added 15% in the past three months. Shares are off 1.4% from last week’s high mark.

The consumer price index reading for December is due out Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. It will be reported live on “Squawk Box.”
Economists polled by Dow Jones see a 0.3% increase on a month-to-month basis and a 2.7% gain over the past year.
Going into the number, the U.S. 10-year Treasury note is yielding 4.18%.
The two-year Treasury note is yielding 3.54%.
The one-year Treasury bill is yielding 3.52%.
The six-month T-bill yield is at 3.64%.
The three-month T-bill yields 3.65%.
The one-month T-bill has a yield of 3.62%.
Fidelity’s Corporate Bond ETF (FCOR) has a dividend yield of 4.45%.
The State Street SPDR Bloomberg High Yield Bond ETF (JNK) has a dividend yield of 6.51%.
The iShares iBoxx High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) has a dividend yield of 5.69%.
The iShares 0-5 Year High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (SHYG) has a dividend yield of 7%.

Warren Buffett

Becky Quick, “Squawk Box” anchor and an expert on the life and success of Warren Buffett, is behind a new documentary called “Warren Buffett: A Life and Legacy.” The show will be on CNBC Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
Shares of Mr. Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway (A shares only for the reader of this note) hit a high on May 2. The stock is down 8% from that level.
In hindsight, a great time to buy was around the Great Financial Crisis. In the winter of 2009, you could buy one share for about $70,000. Now, it is about $750,000 a share.
