Infrastructure company Primoris Services (PRIM) is IBD’s Stock Of The Day for Monday after it displayed an early buy point that might attract particularly aggressive investors.

Primoris jumped 3.3% to close at 134.24.

Primoris Stock Action

The move saw the stock bounce off its 21-day and 50-day averages, which had converged early last week. Shares of Primoris are making their way out of cup-with-handle base that has a breakout buy point of 138.52. On Monday, the stock closed about 3% from that buy point.

However, the closing price was also a hair above an intermediate buy point of 133.95 set on Tuesday, Jan. 6. Aggressive investors could use Monday’s action as an early entry. The stock’s jump off the averages while setting a new high in the base’s handle is a promising sign.

Primoris has had a solid start to 2026. It’s up 4.3% so far this year, which is more than the S&P 500’s 1.4% gain at this early stage. Over the last 12 months, the stock is up close to 70%.

Primoris, a midcap with a market capitalization of $7.25 billion, specializes in constructing and then servicing complex pieces of infrastructure. The company engineers things like oil pipelines, solar farms and airport runways. Once constructed, Primoris then provides ongoing maintenance and repairs to its projects.

Building Infrastructure For Data Centers

Over the past year, the part of Primoris’ business that builds energy infrastructure was in high demand because of the AI boom. As data center projects popped up all over the country, operators rushed to find enough energy to keep them online. That only meant good things for Primoris.

On its most recent earnings release, Primoris reported a 47% increase in revenue from its energy division, totaling $1.49 billion in the third quarter. Total company revenue was $2.18 billion. Both figures exceeded analyst expectations of $1.25 billion and $1.84 billion.

In addition to providing power for data centers, Primoris also supplies them with services related to their actual operations. These include things like building the communications networks within data centers and installing fiber-optic cables.

“Essentially, we are a premier partner for comprehensive solutions outside the walls of the data center in a market experiencing very tight supply for these services,” interim CEO David King told investors during an earnings call in August.
