Bed Bath & Beyond is making a comeback in former Kirkland’s locations.

The Brand House Collective, formerly Kirkland’s, announced on Sept. 16 that it will reopen nearly all of its locations as Bed Bath & Beyond over the next two years, according to a news release. Its next grand opening of a Bed Bath & Beyond Home store – a restructured name for the brand – is in Spring Hill, Tennessee, on Saturday, Sept. 20, CEO and Director Amy Sullivan said in an analyst call on Sept. 16.

The Brand House Collective announced on Sept. 15 that it sold Kirkland’s intellectual property to Bed Bath & Beyond for $10 million. The first revitalized Bed Bath & Beyond Home under the new company opened in Nashville, Tennessee, suburb Brentwood on Aug. 8. The opening was the first Bed Bath & Beyond brick-and-mortar since the retailer declared bankruptcy and shut all of its stores in 2023. For the past two years, Bed Bath & Beyond has continued online sales.

According to a news release, The Brand House Collective closed five Kirkland stores this year, and Sullivan added on the analyst call that the company will close an additional 25 locations by January due to lease expirations. That will round out the Bed Bath & Beyond Home footprint to be about 250, she said.

The company did not specify which Kirkland’s Home locations closed, nor which would be converted into Bed Bath & Beyond. A request for those locations from USA TODAY did not receive an immediate response.Looking for a free mini puzzle? Play the USA TODAY Quick Cross now.

Four more stores reopening in Tennessee

Following the Spring Hill location’s opening on Sept. 20, four more Bed Bath & Beyond Home stores will open in the Nashville area, The Brand Home Collective Chief of Staff Starr Hudgens told USA TODAY. Here’s a look at when and where the stores are opening:

  • Oct. 4: Juliet, Tennessee
  • Oct. 18: Hendersonville, Tennessee
  • Nov. 1: Murfreesboro, Tennessee
  • Nov. 8: Nashville, Tennessee

Bed Bath & Beyond coupons aren’t going anywhere

Bed Bath & Beyond’s beloved coupons will continue to be honored at newly-opened locations, the retailer said in a July news release. Current coupons, as outlined on the Bed Bath & Beyond website, include $10 off a purchase of $150, $20 off $350 and $35 off a $700 purchase.

But perhaps the coupon the retailer is most known for is its 20% Big Blue coupon, which never expires. The retailer will continue to honor this, too.

Brick-and-mortars won’t reopen in California

Bed Bath & Beyond Executive Chairman Marcus Lemonis said in August that the company would not open brick-and-mortar locations in California. He added that the state will be served solely through online delivery.

“After their bankruptcy and closure of every store, like most Americans, we thought Bed, Bath & Beyond no longer existed,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s press office said in response to the announcement on X. “We wish them well in their efforts to become relevant again as they try to open a 2nd store.”

Lemonis replied to a post from Newsom’s personal X account, proposing pro-business reforms for California.

“We will target opening 300 small to midsize neighborhood stores thru [sic] our Kirklands investment,” Lemonsis wrote. “You are a smart man and I know the post below is out of frustration.”
